Tanalian Bible Camp 2010

Tanalian Mountain Danny Oertli concert
Volleyball and main building
Peter treated us to akutaq--yum!
Staff hanging out after hours
I hitched a ride home after 5 weeks on the Samaritan's Purse Casa (yeah, it is a bit like a flying house!)
Whee! Flying in a cargo plane means lots of leg room. They can drive a small car up that back ramp.
The other cargo was sheet metal, an old sink and a toilet. Flyin' in style!
One of the cool mountain views as we headed back to Soldotna
Here's the Casa parked back at SP
OK, so here's the story (we're back at camp now). SP just bought an old lodge and is renovating it for a Wounded Warriors retreat center. One of the old sheds had literally hundreds of candy bars (stolen over the years from the pantry) stuffed into the walls and ceiling. The culprit, this mouse, eventually got too fat to get through its escape hole and got stuck. Yeah, it's dead. How's that for a lesson against gluttony?
Myra and her most recent felt creations!
Myra's birthday party!
Crafting like the wind
More crafting. This guy's name is Cavelila, but everyone calls him The Governor.
Supervising the T-shirt project
Preparing to spray the bleach on a shirt
Watching as the bleach takes over and does its thing
Kathy rinses the shirts in vinegar water to neutralize the bleach (so the shirts don't fall apart later)
Tada! They really turned out great!
Me and Julie the Craft Princess
Katie McGee on our fishing trip up the Chulitna River
We stopped at White Sands for dinner (and to play in the sand)
Singing on the way home
More playing at White Sands with Tanalian Mountain in the background
Dinner time! Thank you, McGees, for such a great night!
And I did catch a little baby pike!
Getting ready to go (yeah, I can't seem to get pictures to load in order with Blogger!)
McGeelets ready to go
